Instructions on Registration and Login

You need to register first.

  1. At the top right of the screen you will see two boxes for Login and Register.
  2. Click on the Register box and it will take you to the Registration page.
  3. You register with your email address.  We use this as identification rather than you having to remember a user name.
  4. Since registrastion is by email address, the system currently does not allow you to change it.  If there is a demand we will add such a facility.
  5. You require a password which needs to be confirmed. The password must to be 5 character long or more.
  6. There is nothing too secret about the website but we do check that the email address is in a legal form and that mail systems for the domain - the bit after the '@' - exist.
  7. We need a first name so we can say 'hello', we ask how you found us and to confirm that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions.
  8. If you enter an email address that is already known to us, you will be forwarded to the Login box as it is probable that you have clicked the wrong box.
  9. Any other errors in the registration process will reported at the top of the page.
  10. Once the registration has been accepted, we will send you a welcome email which includes a verification code so we know it is genuinely you!
  11. This is really for future planned facilities and it is not necessary to respond at the moment although there is no harm in doing so.
  12. Once you have registered, you will be automatically logged in.
  13. You can logout by clicking on the Logout box which will replace the Login and Register boxes at the top right part of the page.
  14. You can login at any time by clicking on the Login box and entering your email address and password.
  15. If you have forgotten your password, then just leave the password blank and you will be asked whether you want a password reminder sent to your registered email address.
  16. The Login and Registration pages are also on the Home drop-down.

Once you have registered - or logged in:

  1. The site will prepare - or load - your personal pages.  These will be visible under a My Shops drop-down which will appear just after the Home drop-down.
  2. The first page will be called 'New Page' to start with but you can change that in the Administration page also visible under the My Shops dropdown.
  3. Up to 4 further pages may be added in the Administration section.
  4. Shops may be placed on any of your pages.
  5. On all pages with shops (including your own pages), on the listings and offers pages and on any search results, a check box will appear by the shop name.  If the shop is already in your list, the box will be checked and if it is not, it will be blank.
  6. Checking and unchecking this box will add or remove the shop from your list but you will need to click on the Update MyShops button to modify your list first before you go to any other page.
  7. New shops will be added to the end of your last page.
  8. If you uncheck a shop on your list, all instances of that shop will be removed from your list - although it may be easily added again of course.
  9. The Admin page contains a list of your pages, sections within pages and the shops within sections.
  10. You can move up, move down, copy or delete any shop. section or page as well as rename pages or sections simply by clicking on the appropriate red link.
  11. If you delete a section or page, all shops in that section or page will be deleted.
  12. You need to click on the Update MyShops button to make the changes permanent before you go to any other page.
  13. The Login/Register boxes at the top will be replaced by a Logout box and various other changes to navigation and text will occur.
  14. The Register page will change slightly to enable you to change password, set nicknames, add a location and and enter our Survey.
